This self-paced online program, over a 3-month period, is designed to guide you through resources and writing prompts to help you dig deeper into your self awareness as it relates to race.
Poetry, prose and prompts will center around questions such as:
Each packet is developed based on race and you will receive the packet based on your own racial identity (before learning more about other races, the conversation must begin honestly about your own identity). You will be sent material and prompts weekly for you to work through at your own pace and convenience.
You have the option of:

- What do I think about other races?
- What are my fears and biases?
- How do I reconcile history with present day?
- How do I respond to/interrupt microaggressions?
- How do I honor myself?
- Where does forgiveness come in?

- Signing up to just receive the weekly material and work at your own pace over the three months.
- Receive the weekly material and join in monthly group Zoom sessions where we will discuss what you're experiencing and learning through this program and to answer questions your writing is illuminating

- Anyone regardless of their familiarity and interest in poetry
- Anyone who is struggling with or curious about how racism shows up in their life, work, country
- Anyone wanting to grow in their understanding of racism
- Anyone looking to heal their racial trauma
Who this is NOT for:
- Anyone resistant to doing a deep dive into their personal history
- Anyone resistant to doing the work/lessons
- Anyone looking for a "quick fix" and "all the right answers"
- Anyone who is hostile in their opinions
What this is:
- An opportunity to look beneath the surface of your own experience with races/racism
- An opportunity to reconcile what you were taught as a child and what you're learning as an adult as it relates to race and racism
- An opportunity to use creativity to grow your curiosity and understanding
- A time for self-reflection and healing
- An opportunity to engage with others around what you're learning about yourself
- A time for inspired growth
- An opportunity to explore your feelings, perceptions, beliefs, actions
What this is NOT:
- An opportunity to place blame or shame upon others or yourself, to bully, or to enter defensively
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion training or workshop
- Therapy/counseling
- A quick fix
- A simple guide with a checklist on how to handle racism
