“giving voice to the creative spirit”

the WORD project

As a company or nonprofit organization, you can partner with the WORD project (TWP) as a sponsor to provide poetry writing workshops for your community or staff. Below are highlights of programs provided by TWP that may interest your company or organization. For individuals looking to participate in a workshop, please contact us to be added to our electronic mailing list, as we occasionally have workshop open to the general public.

program summary

TWP takes a holistic approach to life, expression, and healing. We recognize that it is the mind, body and spirit that needs attention. Many caregivers and those who face illnesses or grief often suppress their feelings in order to “survive.” We, with comfort and compassion, give room and permission for participants to safely express every emotion through reading, writing and discussing poetry.

healing through poetry

Our youth workshops are designed to give young people the space and support to discover their creative voice. Workshops focus on self-image, team work and anger management, and are a great supplement to any English course or as a part of a community center’s program.

children/youth workshops

Community workshops are excellent for retirement homes, recovery groups, health centers, churches, libraries or anywhere adults gather on a regular basis. When the community, of any age, comes together around a common interest, there is a positive shift for that community. We read, discuss, remember and write!
