Tired of meetings that leave you feeling overwhelmed and unproductive? Feel as if everyone’s voice isn’t being heard? |
|
Currently, we facilitate five “training through poetry” workshops designed specifically for the nonprofits’ board of directors, staff, and volunteers. With nearly 10 years of experience within the nonprofit sector as an executive, and having earned a MPA in nonprofit management from one to the country’s top programs—The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University—jacinta has developed a comprehensive, innovative training to inspire those within the nonprofit sector. |

“Training Through Poetry” Workshop Topics: Ethical Leadership [overview] During this time of government, corporate, and nonprofit speculation and findings among its leadership, this is a crucial time to discuss and examine the difference between leadership and ethical leadership. This workshop provides a creative outlet for your leadership team to explore the meaning of true leadership, the attributes leaders possess, the areas of development they wish to make, and how they can work better with their colleagues to build a stronger leadership team. This workshop also provides participants constructive ways to release frustrations that come with their role and responsibilities. Strategic Planning [overview] Does your organization know the direction it’s going? Does it have a roadmap to help address questions surrounding staff and budgeting issues? This workshop allows participants to augment their organization’s strategic plan by challenging them to look at strategic planning in a different light. Through the poetry workshop, participants will be engaged to truly think of how they fit into the organization and where they see the organization headed. Participants will also evaluate and weigh the obstacles and benefits of their work within the nonprofit sector.

Cultural Diversity [overview] Diversity isn’t about race alone. Explore feelings, sentiments, meanings, stereotypes and misconceptions about “diversity” through this workshop. Participants will have the chance to explore and build a foundation of understanding and respecting cultural differences. We will look at definitions and proven techniques for communication and diversity sensitivity important to any successful business or community. Working with Troubled Children [overview] Examine ways to work with children and remember why you chose to work with them in the first place. This workshop is designed to allow participants to find a safe place to “download” and put their thoughts and feelings about their work on paper. This healing training will invigorate the participant and give meaning to their work and with those they work. Often we forget why we do what we do and question if it’s all worth it. This workshop will dig into the participant in a way that will bring the answer forth in a fun, surprising, cleansing fashion. Blessed? Stressed! [overview] “Overworked and underpaid,” is one phrase most used by nonprofit professionals. We understand, and have developed a workshop that helps address what’s behind this sentiment. Through this workshop, participants are given permission to express their pains and frustrations while also re-discovering their passion about their work. |
