what we do

At the WORD project we are passionate about giving persons the platform and tools to find their own voice and create their own poems. In a non-intimidating atmosphere our focus is on making poetry writing fun and exciting for everyone. Each workshop, whether is a one time 2-hour workshop or a 12-week workshop for youth, participants are provided the encouragement to find their own voice and give it permission to be heard.

There are four distinct services we offer, which are discussed further in this website.

             1) Healing Through Poetry

[emphasis on developing new creative outlet. ideal for health and retirement centers, libraries, churches.]

             2) Youth Workshops

[emphasis on poetry mechanics. ideal for after-school and summer programs, in-school visits, detention centers, churches.]

             3) Poetry Critique Workshops

[writers group with emphasis on experienced or new poets working towards publication or to hone their poetry writing.]

             4) Training Through Poetry

[emphasis on trainings for non-profit management/staff.]

We look forward to working with you, whatever your community or need, to give other’s the gift of writing their soul’s language!
